Living on the Edge

YOOOO you.

How’ve you been? Besides missing me, obviously.

among-thelostboys:

Yes, if one examined my internet dating profile they’d soon discover that my ideal partner must have an extensive interest and knowledge in the nutritional benefits of American snack food. This was something I would not compromise on.

Oh, what do you want to know about next? I know pretty much everything there is to know about Doritos if that sounds interesting to you. I’m basically a snack food encyclopedia, John Darling, so today is definitely your lucky day.

among-thelostboys:

It’s your way with words that initially won over my heart you know. Otherwise I’d only be exploiting you for your good looks.

Oh I know. I saw the way your eyes lit up when I called you an asshole for getting shot. I think you decided then and there you were going to marry me someday. Your decision was confirmed when I listed the health benefits of Jello.

among-thelostboys:

As always, Jim, very eloquently put.

Thank you. I do my best to express myself with grace and dignity. I’m glad someone appreciates it.

Awww that’s wonderful. I also got to see my mom a lot, since I went back to you know, live with her. We had many great days together, and honestly, if it wasn’t for her I would have been ten times more pathetic and depressed without Pin there. Which pissed off my Andalasian friends of course, since I was so hopeless, but none of them are in love so they can’t judge me! Or so my thinking goes.

Awww, John came out? That’s lovely! He gets copious amounts of boyfriend points for doing so, I think. We were both in the same boat this summer, hon, so I know how hard it can be without having even a little visit to break up the time apart.

I think our moms would probably be friends. My mom needs more friends. I think I need to like, save up a bunch of money and go visit Andalasia with you and her so they can meet and then have skype dates and talk about how proud of us they are since we’re awesome. They can also share recipes and stuff since they both do the food thing.

WELL as you know I had to abandon my post here at Elias because I was given the opportunity to work on the national paper back at Andalasia, so I was waaay too busy to keep up here. And then I flew out to New York City to see Pin like a hundred times. Okay not a hundred times but a stupid amount because it turns out I can’t do long distance for shit, so I did that like three or four times. I actually just crashed at his place for an entire week after my internship was up and I would have stayed there if my job back at THIS paper hadn’t started the next week. So my summer was pretty amazing. What about you, sweetie? I heard you went back home too, right?

I’m glad you and Pin got to see each other. I was wondering if you guys would get to spend time together since he was going to be in New York so I’m glad you did.

My summer was pretty good. I got to spend a lot of time with my mom, which was really nice. She’s still as cool as ever, though I’m pretty sure I gained like ten pounds because she cooks the best food and I can’t say no to seconds with her. Turning her food down is like illegal. I would hate myself if I missed out on any of it. Oh and I painted! I got to hang over the edge of the roof to paint the trim on our inn because no one else wanted to do it. My mom had to be inside for that part, though. She said if I was going to “stupidly risk my life” she wasn’t going to watch. I was totally fine. She was overreacting, clearly. Oh and John came to visit me, which was a total surprise!

That’s right! You didn’t think I was gone for good, did you? I couldn’t let Elias go too long without fabulous me.

I missed you, you asshole. How was your summer?
